See? Come visit me an get some free knowledge too!!

Well if you didn't know before you do now cos I bin home working on this!

Little Feat were formed in 1970 (a very good year) at this time the founders were already veterans of the Frank Zappa band, the Mothers Of Invention.

(That was news to me)  Albums released sold more in Europe than in the states where they didn't get much radio play because the music didn't fit into a clear "Slot" , but they were a good album and concert band. Lowell George was one of the founders and his vocal talents and guitar style with the "dirty" bass playing from Roy Estrada  soon established this band as something special. I have been listening to some of their tracks and figure the most well known is probably "Dixie Chicken"?  Still selling albums today, Georges untimely death from a heart attack around 1979 didn't stop it either. They reformed in 1988 and were still selling tickets to fans (if you liked the Grateful Dead, you liked Feat. Also The Band) So check out a few tracks from you favourite source. My favourites?

Roll um easy

Rock n roll doctor

Willin

Dixie Chicken.

So check em out, a piece of Rock history you never heard of!

Check this out too, 2 versions of Willin here, just a click away, I love em both.

big thanks to these guys above, great site.

If you look at the lyrics, Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonapah, I have listened to so many versions of this song for nearly 30 years and it's only today that I know what those words are, no wonder!!!!

Willin'
Little Feat (1971)

I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I'm drunk and dirty don't ya know, and I'm still, oh I'm still
Out on the road late at night, I seen my pretty Alice in every head light
Alice, Dallas Alice
I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Now I driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
and you show me a sign
I'll be willin', to be movin'
Now I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico
baked by the sun, every time I go to Mexico, and I'm still
And I've been kicked be the wind, robbed by the sleet
Had my head stoved in and I'm still on my feet and I'm willin', oh I'm willin'
And I been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
and then you show me a sign
I'll be willin', to be movin'

Little Feat?

Please tell me the above means something to someone out there! Years ago I was passing a pub (not often done, passing that is! LOL) on a saturday morning in the summer. When I heard a band starting up , no, it wasn't Lowell George and the boys. They did however make a nice coordinated noise so I stopped and listened, standing in the open doorway.

You may appreciate my incredulity when the singer announced that they were going to play a Little Feat song called 'Willing' , this has been a favourite of mine for decades along with 'Dixie Chicken' and so on. They played a very good rendition which I sang along with all the way through and joined in the applause enthusiastically  when they had done.

You can imagine how dumb I felt when the singer said ' at least I know one guy knows that song, he was singin it with me all the way through!' while pointing at me!   Everyone in place turned to look at me, so I gave a bow and left! hehehe

the following lyrics are from memory so forgive me if I'm wrong. You will have to put in your own fabulous slide guitar cos I don't have this song in digital format.

Jeez what an omission!

Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made

Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed

And if you give me...............

Weed, whites and wine, and you show me a sign

Then I'm willin, to be moving

Do you know just thinking through that song and I'm filling up even now, damn I wish life was that simple now, but it aint is it? This is right up there with The Band .  It's like a piece of my life becomes real again, remembering pleasures long forgotten.

Xmas 2007

Well folks, I guess we are at the time for reflection again, even though yesterday is history and the future never comes (I shall pass, on the obvious wisecrack at this point)  I have been doing this for over 2 years now, it has changed in itself (Thank you Windows Live Writer!) and we now regularly "converse" with folks who we have never met on the other side of the world! Even more amazing is the fact that I can now include photo's in my blog!

I hope that you will all have a happy time and  I for one am gonna get slaughtered. May your God go with you. (Forgive me Dave Allen, RIP a ciggie in one hand and a glass of scotch in the other. AMEN)

Meet Stanley!

I thought some of you out there might appreciate a few Snappy Pooo's of  local  "heartthrob" Stanley. As a cool and debonair character, he will probably be found in the nearest Licensed Premises. He is obviously a "potential  force" for great things. (Hollow legs in a bar!) Has awoken in some bizarre places and still maintains "It wasn't him!" I am sure the ladies especially  (although all views will be aired) will appreciate this candid  look at "Stanley, man about Bridgwater!"

DSC01333

He don't look real does he?

DSC01334

He isn't real, I created him from various spare parts lying about the place.

He is realistic though isn't he? I could have sworn that he said something the other day, I found out later he had, he said "Mines a large one"  Well I'm sure he did! I thought he looked like such a clean living lad too?

DSC01335

Here he is with his "great big thing!" (I can sense a dampening of groins)

Seasons greetings and so on, I'm sure that you all know what I mean

(which should be a first anyway)

By the way, "Would you buy a used fork lift from this man?"  If yes, drop me a line, we should talk.

I love a good Cafe, and this is a good one!

There is nothing quite like a good Cafe' especially one which is local! I checked this out after it was mentioned to me as something a bit special. It certainly was too. It is in the middle of a local park and opens early to close late!

IMG_0917

Inside is all warm and toasty, the menu includes Steak dinners and all sorts, not just "Bacon Sarnies" I love it. I went there this morning as I was out early for some pix but the sun didn't actually rise today, so I treated myself to a bacon and egg sandwich and a cup of tea! It was smashin too.

IMG_0920 IMG_0921

So there you have it, What I reckon is the best local Cafe' in the area Yaaay!

Did I mention the squirrels?  Regular readers will know my natural affinity with photographing wildlife (not) I don't know why but they just leg it when I get my camera out! But I did get a few shots of these guys in the park so I got them here too! Tree ratz, I love em.

IMG_0899

So this guy is going to jump to the next tree, great shot I think, weeeel?

IMG_0900 "I will show em!"IMG_0901  Whoa! Big drop!

IMG_0902Well maybe next time.IMG_0903 Yeah, next time.IMG_0915 "Hey! no nuts, no pix"

Big thanks to Dman AGAIN for lending me his camera AGAIN, I took 140 shots today from sunrise to mid day! so I have included a few here for your viewing buds to savour! Hehehe

Home town in the morning sun.

I will post some more later but this gives a feel of where I have lived for the last 25 years! We only moved here for the house that came with the job!

Sorry if I am becoming a photo bore, but it is a bug that has bitten my ass so there ya do go!

12月10日

Thank you Sambo, you've done it again.

Thank you for passing this on to me!

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.
"In honour of this holy season" Saint Peter said,"You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven."
The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. "It represents a candle", he said.
"You may pass through the pearly gates" Saint Peter said.
The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, "They're bells."
Saint Peter said "You may pass through the pearly gates".
The third man started searching desperately through his pockets
and finally pulled out a pair of women's panties.
St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked,
"And just what do those symbolize?"
The man replied, "These are Carols."
And So The Christmas Season Begins......

Clair Bear has done it again!

Well the current video will be showing for a short while!  I will see what goes up after that, but for now I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. Big Fankoo to Clair for sending it to me. Mwwaaaaah!

I am sorry for the German voice, it is a bit odd but you don't have to wait long to see what it's all about.  Roughly speaking the guy (in a strident german voice) is telling his wife to stop filming the fecking flowers and to focus on him and his new "device"  the rest is self evident but what a greazt clip! Fantastic!!

Now what else while I'm here? Ah yes, thank you to all for letting me know that you do read the titles and comments on my pictures, bless. XXX . That's kisses  for the ladies and manly handshakes an stuff for the blokes. (I don't seem to have many blokes visit do I? Still I can't complain at that!! Ha!)

I am getting some more Photographic bits and pieces coming my way, large prints (A4 size) a couple of folks interested in pictures of their kids on canvas, 19" x 30" and a DVD with lots of  great black and white wedding pictures and swirly effects to link them all up, as a surprise for a 40th Anniversary! When I finally get my bloody DSLR camera, I can get on with taking pix of peoples cars and "putting" them in moody settings, then get them printed in poster size for folks bedroom walls!! I will find a way to make some money that doesn't involve spending 9 hours a day in 3.5 degrees! Ah well time will tell. Ta ta for now.

DSC01214

These ladies gave me their full attention while posing provocatively on the old gate!

(I had a great joke about a small bear but perhaps this is not actually the best place for it as it would doubtlessly offend soooo many people, so I shall keep it to myself. hehehhhe.)

12月4日

Re Mish mash Photo's above.

Does anyone read the titles or comments on my photo albums? Cos I was quite pleased with this last lot especially. I thought the cyclists would have got  a toot from one of the girls at least? (Note to self) "Don't waste your time on picture titles no- one reads!"

Maybe if I put em in the blog instead of in the photo's? I s'pect so, don't go on luvvy, just do it ok? "OK" Pffft!

Lucy E Lastic ,with Sam and bike together.

I GOT A SUNDAY OFF WORK!!!! Sorry about shouting there, it's so rare.

Wot a bugger it's been peeing down with rain and blowin a hoooooley!

Went out hoping for some moody bad weather shots but it's just grey on grey.

Still I did get to see my "little boy" Sam so he could hold onto his Moto for ya!

DSC01195

All of the new cooling system is now plumbed in and working, no leaks!

When I got back home, Lucy was just getting ready to go out so I asked her to sit for me to take a picture of her in her Wax Jacket! It's a small doggy "Barbour"  so when she comes home covered in mud after a damned good frolic with all her mates. Off comes the Jacket  "Et voila!" Clean dog with dirty legs! Much simpler to clean.

DSC01197

All was perfect until the second that the photo was taken, then she looked the other way!  Anyway, she's off out with "she who must be obeyed," so she always has a good time, even though it is now gone very dark, the wind is whistling about and it's started hailing! Oh dear, that's not so good then.

DSC00757

Last but not least, Did you see the little "I luv U" in the middle of the pic?

Aaaaaaahhhh. hehehe
