    Scoop! Brand new Volvo!!

I bet you never saw one of these before? I was on my way home after pointlessly making a special trip to the Post Sorting Office to post a birthday card. (I posted it at 18:17 the last collection was 18:00!?%*$!) when I saw this bloody great mobile chassis, I screeeched to a halt, jumped out with my camera an took a few shots. Spoke to one of the engineers there in the bus depot and he told me "It's a Volvo B40" (the B is for the fact that the engine is in the boot!?) He was a very nice chap and I enjoyed our little chat, it's nice to see an engineer who gets a bit enthusiastic about what he does for a living! Apparently it was for the guys to have a good crawl all over it so they can fix stuff when it comes into service.
So there you have it. A brand new Volvo ready for the off to the coachbuilders for a great big shiny double decker body to be made and fitted!!
Hot off the press!! Dodgey Cam Spy Pictures! Top Gear eat your heart out! Hahaaaaaaa.

    Some lessons learned!

Well now, the Dodge finally got his hands on a decent DSLR camera and had a few days off work too!!

When D man loaned me his Canon EOS 350 thingy bob wiv 2 lenses an a 4Gb card an a 2 Gb card too, I fort it wuz crismass! He gave me the 2 hr training CD too. (As a bloke I listened to the first disc, thought "dear god wot a borin bastard he is" an off I went!)

So I'm out there, well for a start the friggin wevver wuz not nice to me! But I did me best to make the best of it. I started off in the garden wiv Lucy and some conkers from me conker tree. Then I wuz off!

The very first thing is, whenever you see a photo opportunity, you will have the wrong lens on your whiz bang camera. I got used to changing lenses quite quickly! Like every time I wanted to use the thing!

As I drove around the area looking for things to capture, I met a very nice man who let me loose in his treasure trove with me camera and his 9 Ford Mustangs which he is lovingly restoring. Big thanks and respect. (I am not about to reveal where this is just in case) A Heron which has previously escaped my camera was sort of captured but there was no point in putting them here cos the bugger was miles away! I also got a flock of Canada Geese having good nosh in the freshly ploughed filed of stubble along with a Buzzard who I have been chasing for years! Again poor light and a  long lens mean that these are not up to publishing standards either. The Buzzard, I see so many of these fantastic birds but never through a viewfinder!!! Well I did, but the light was crap and he was a long way off!

The second lesson is that whatever DSLR I get will have to have some pretty impressive anti-shake software built in! So many shots were useless because of my inability to hold the camera with a zoom lens on still enough to produce a clear image. I mean Aberdeen Angus bulls and cows and a calf are not known for their intense and rapid movement are they? You wouldn't know it from my shots!

As I parked up by the River Axe, I saw a "flash of turquoise blue" (as some lyricist wrote, "Bird of paradise" I fink) There was KINGFISHER!!!! Wow! I got me camera lined up to where it had gone, WRONG LENS on!!! DOH! Back to the car to stick the telephoto one on then back and focused on the spot where it had gone to ground. I squeezed the button and............. nuffink! WTF? eventually I realised that it was telling what was wrong, the 4 Gigabyte memory card was FULL!!! DOH DOH DOH!

Back to the car to change the memory card and back to the spot again. No sign of the friggin Kingfisher but it did start to piss down with rain so I gave up and got back in the car for to head for subjects new.

(I haven't forgotten you though, I know where you hang out!!!)

As I turned off the roundabout onto the slip road to the M5 tonight, there about 20 feet in front and 30 feet above me was a buzzard, gently flapping along, as if to say " you can't take any pictures now can you?" This is the second time this has happened in 3 days!!!

Well I am knackered now after my first day back at WERK, so I go an have a small beer! Catch you soon! Ta Ta.

    Who's who in the EU?

This is not a subject that I would normally bother to view a video clip on. However I did, it is a very well delivered speech from a guy called Nigel Farage. He talks a whole of sense in this clip. (that's a very nice suit too! hehehe) So who are the EU mandarins that make up the rules for you and me then? Take a look it's only a couple of minutes long, but worth a look see. Probably no on will, but I did try to bring it to your attention.

    A sticky problem indeed!

Well now I heard today about these norty chemical companeez, they have been messing around wiv GM modified plants and one farmer has ended up wiv a whole field full of dildo's!!! Apparently he now has a problem wiv squatters!!! hehehe.
Sorry about that, well no I'm not reely, but no bugger is comin round lately so I better not upset em if they do!  Well I might......

Anybody seen The Bourne Ultimatum yet? great action movie, well played and full of great stunts too! Hooraah! ***** Just how a modern thriller should be made!

Or how about Seraphim Falls then? Fantastic scenery and (bugger all else) two very unlikely actors for a western, which could easily have been great, if it was shorter!!! I watched it right to the end and thought "Well f*ck me was that it????!!!!" Yes it wuz, Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson battle it out for friggin ayjeez. hehehe, I neeerly lost the will to live meself!

The Simpsons Movie? brilliant of course, how could it be anything else? Homer remains my hero, for ever and ever. The scene where the family arrive late for church with Homer grumbling had me in fits! "Praise Jeepers" hehehehehehe

Oh and one last one here for you (to avoid) Marine this is a real stinker!!!
How the hell anyone ever raised money to make that movie? Astounding!
Total garbage from the opening titles to the last bitter moments. Who put up the backing for this? I got a good idea for a movie, lets make one with every hackneyed stunt ever over used, wrap it in bullsh*t an sell it to people!! One car had every millimeter of it full of bullet holes an inch across, but it was still doing a hundred mph with all 4 tyres fully inflated and our hero still gritting his teeth at the wheel. Pleeze send the Director and Producers out on minefield clearance to make amends for this piece of CHEEZE!

    Dont tell them, show them!

A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the washroom at school.
That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.
Every night, the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back.
Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. He called all the girls to the washroom and met them there with the maintenance man.
He explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the maintenance man who had to clean the mirrors every night.
To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, he asked the man to show the girls how much effort was required.
He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it.
Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.
I like this story a lot! Hope someone else agrees with me? Whatever! Hehehehe

We recently had a problem with our electricity which resulted in various devices blowin up! Including me router!!! Good grief! All being replaced FOC but what a problem, very strange indeed. Anyone else have this experience with some kind of surge? Took out the hoover, router, microwave/combi and whiz bang phone with HUNDREDS of numbers saved in it!!! (That was surge not urge ok?) hehehe
